Oh, Windows.

Well. Windows went belly-up on me, so I had to reinstall. Aaaaaaaand I lost all my files. Now, most of them are backed up, you know, from the Great Move. But not all of them.

Like, that novel I've been wrestling with for NaNo 2008.

So. Here's the question. Do I keep my most recent posted count, and just keep working from there? I DO NOT have the kind of texty proof the NaNo website demands regarding wordcount (namely, the file from which to copy-paste).

Now I'm off to download some of the other software that went by the wayside in the reinstall. Color me unimpressed.

Wait, are you SURE you don't have it? Go to Windows/temp and see if it's there, also, you can try to open your word processor again and check the drop-down box under File. Sometimes it'll save it there.

Also, recent documents may have it? ARGH. I've had that happen before and I'm so sorry if it's truly gone. *plays taps* Keep your most recent count.

The reinstall wiped everything...including the word processor (and all my other software--I'm in the middle of a download-fest with my limited bandwidth--weee!). I had to create a new login for me. It was like installing Windows from scratch, after getting the computer home from the store :(
